Nacpan Beach is named top 10 best beaches in the world. Here’s why:
Hailed as one of the best beaches in the world by Tripadvisor, Nacpan beach is truly a must-see and worth a detour when visiting El Nido. Located north of El Nido, the landscape in itself is quite unique. A strip of fine white sand forms the Nacpan Beach on one side and the Calitang Beach on the other. The two together are often called the Twin Beach. At the end of the strip is a massive limestone rock formation covered with bushes and grasses that you can hike for the most amazing views of rock islands across the sea, and of course, the golden sunsets. The Nacpan beach makes for a perfect swimming area with its long coast of fine, white sands while Calitang beach is where most of the fishing boats are docked.
There are barely any resorts there, just a small fishing village on the other side of the beach. A few tourists venture there on their motorbikes as part of their daytrips so you can enjoy a nice swim without the usual crowd. Nacpan Beach is truly a must-see when visiting El Nido.
How to get to Nacpan Beach
Nacpan Beach is a 16-kilometer drive from El Nido on cemented as well as rugged roads, especially the last section. You can rent a motorbike (p400-500 per day depending on how long your rent it) and drive yourself there. The roads are easy to follow and there are a couple of visible signs that will lead you to the beach. Otherwise, many tour agencies offer 600 pesos round trip per person in an air-conditioned van. Tricycles ask up to 1500 pesos to take you to the beach, haggle to get it down to 1000. Still pretty steep yes!
